Filling Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees and take out & grease 9x13 pan.
- Peel and core apples then, cut into small chunks (The bigger the chunks the longer it will take to cook).
- Place chopped apples in bowl and add all other filling ingredients tossing with your hands to coat the apples evenly with the mixture.
- Pour into 9x13 pan and spread evenly.
Topping Directions
- Measure oats, Flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt and place into large mixing bowl.
- Mix dry ingredients together until thoroughly combined (The vanilla may clump up mix until large clumps are broken up).
- Melt or soften the butter and pour into bowl.
- With your hands or a mixer stir the mixture together until it starts to form little crumbly balls. (You cannot overmix this recipe so make sure the butter is completely combined with the dry ingredients)
- Evenly spread the topping over the apple filling already in the pan.
- Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 55 to 65 minutes or until the apples are soft. (Again the bigger the apple chunks the longer the cooking time)
- Optional: Top with cool whip or vanilla ice cream and drizzle with salted caramel.
